FUNAKOSHI RYU,Karate techniques are similar in most styles of karate. It is the system in which they are taught that indentifies the style.
Funakoshi ryu has a structured sequential training system. The Kamae stance a major factor in our style, it is featured in all our forms, kata, kion and kumite.
This stance is more than just a position, it contains accurate foot, leg, hand, shoulder, hip and body positions. This stance is an aggressive and defensive position, you could say this stance identifies FUNAKOSHI RYU.
Many styles have copied this Kamae and yet it is still not in there basics and kata.
Our curriculum of form training is unique. The definitive head movements in our system we are leaders.
FUNAKOSHI RYU INTRODUCED TO THE KARATE WORLD the unique system of the white stripe through the belt for all
Junior Karateka and the awarding of a junior black belt with a white stripe.
