Sensei Marius Bouwer started Karate in South Africa in 1982 in Durban under Dusty Miller He receieved his  3 Dan in 1992. he then immigrated in 1992 to Germany because there was no Funakoshi club here and could not open his own (politics= he trained JKA for several Years. and built  a club with about 50 students. Now he is now teaching Funakoshi Karate as well. He currently trains 2 times a week with Shihan Ward over skypeHe has 5 junior black belts and Shihan Graded him to 4 th Dan in November 2009.  .
